Kerivan-Lane Supports Devin Suau

Posted in General

Paul and Devin in front of the Kerivan-Lane oil delivery truck. Devin honked the horn and spoke over the radio to the Kerivan-Lane team! #WhyNotDevin Last week Paul Gillert, one of Kerivan-Lane’s technicians, made a special stop along his route. He stopped at the house of Devin Suau, a six-year-old boy who was diagnosed with DIPG–a rare, inoperable brain tumor. Paul lives in the same town as Devin and has been following the #WhyNotDevin campaign that his family and friends created in hopes of finding a cure and raising awareness for DIPG. When Paul arrived at the Suau house, Devin climbed into the truck with him, honked the horn, and spoke over the radio to the Kerivan-Lane team. Briana Lane spoke over the radio saying, “Hi Devin! I hope you’re having a good day!” to which he responded, “I like chicken!” which made everyone in the office laugh. Apparently, Devin was very excited to go to Chik-fil-A for lunch that afternoon. Paul said Devin had a lot of spunk and loved playing in the truck and getting his own Kerivan-Lane t-shirt! When we spoke to Devin’s grandmother, she told us that Devin’s story has inspired so many to help their family. He even grabbed the attention of the Pope and got to meet him! Kerivan-Lane asks you to join us in support of Devin and the Suau family. Check out their Go Fund Me page to read their story and contribute: https://www.gofundme.com/devin-needs-your-help  Be Strong. Be Brave. Be the First....

Spring Cleaning: Prep Your AC

Posted in Ductless A/C, General

Winter seems to finally be gone. The temperatures are creeping upwards, the sun is shining a little warmer, and the house is creaking with a big stretch as all the new air floods in. It feels wonderful. But…there’s much to be done. The garden needs to be overhauled, the yard needs a total clean-up, the gutters need to be cleared, the leaky spot in the roof needs to be fixed, the closets need to be dusted and organized…the list goes on. But one of the most overlooked spring cleaning tasks is one of the most important items: the air-conditioning system! Our home’s air-conditioning and ductless systems need some attention before they can be expected to start working at prime output. In fact, putting some thoughtful–and professional–care into your home’s energy systems are one of the most important facets to keeping them running as efficiently as possible. Here is our shortlist of things to get started on: Check your heating and air-conditioning equipment before the beginning of a new season. You always want to get ahead of schedule so that you don’t run into problems when you need the system to work for you. Check and replace your air-conditioner’s filters. Filters get dirty and gunked-up with debris. Clean filters are one of the keys to system efficiency. Clear the space all around the unit itself to ensure that the air it outputs is flowing freely into the home. Clean around any outdoor units, and clean the outside of the unit itself. Dust and clean around indoor units. Most importantly: have your system checked by a professional! With the price of energy increasing, maximizing efficiency and properly maintaining your equipment will help lower your energy costs. For this reason, we offer convenient scheduling of tune-ups and checks, which are included in our Cooling System Maintenance Plans. Learn about our Cooling System Maintenance Plans...

Each year on the first Sunday in May thousands of volunteers and walkers converge on Boston Common, united by a common goal, ending hunger in Massachusetts. The World According to Max

Posted in Uncategorized

One of the fun things about working at a family business is that other family members frequently stop by to visit. In the middle of a stressful day it can be great to pause for a minute to chat and laugh together. The hardest part is making sure the social break doesn’t last too long!             Our youngest (and possibly most entertaining) visitor is John Maxwell Lane. Grandson of Jack Lane, Max fills our office with stories about Power Rangers, friends at school, tee ball and the limitless exuberance of the very young. Max comes by every few weeks and, since we have quite a few golf fanatics here, has listened to his share of golf stories. One day, out of the blue, he said, “You know what the problem with golf is, Papa? They just keep missing.”   As they say, …out of the mouths of babes oft times come gems.                       Birthdays are of course a very popular subject. Candy, cake and ice cream, games, friends and presents – what could be better?  During these few months leading up to his birthday in August, Max tells everyone who will listen, “I’m turning a whole hand this year!”             Probably the best thing about having Max around is it reminds us all how thrilling each and every day can be. He needs so little to entertain himself. Some kind of mask, a cape or special pair of shoes, a stick or plastic sword and he is off…destination imagination!  We just have to...
